Building businesses that restore communities—without compromising business excellence.
Business as Justice
At The WI+H Movement, we believe business is more than profit.
It is also a powerful tool to advance justice, dignity, and human flourishing.
We call this approach Business as Justice—using enterprise to address systemic inequities through how we hire, source, serve, and invest in the communities we call home.
When business is rooted in justice, it becomes more than a company.
It becomes a community engine.
Why we exist?
Communities change when churches, businesses, and neighbors work together to create equitable economic ecosystems.
Business as Justice is our call to:
Build enterprises that serve people
Create long-term economic stability
Transform neighborhood systems—not just treat symptoms
THE SIX DIMENSIONS OF BUSINESS AS JUSTICE
-
Work and businesses become places of formation—where character is shaped, purpose is discovered, and faith is lived out daily.
Jeremiah 29:7 (HNV) Seek the shalom of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the LORD for it; for in the shalom of it shall you have shalom.
-
Business as Justice encourages stewardship of land, resources, and infrastructure – and responsible investing in the long-term health of our neighborhoods.
-
Business as Justice is designed to create sustainable jobs, support families, and build businesses that circulate wealth within the community.
-
Churches convene trust, vision, and people—becoming launchpads for mission-aligned enterprises and renewal.
-
Justice is relational. It is intended to serve real needs, build inclusive workplaces, and treat every person with dignity and respect.
-
Business as Justice success is measured through spiritual growth, social impact, and financial sustainability—not either/or, but all together.
WHY IT MATTERS
When these six dimensions work together, business becomes a force for:
Restoration instead of extraction
Empowerment instead of dependency
Sustainability instead of short-term gain
Business as Justice is how faith becomes action – and how communities are restored.
