Parklawn Village” is an idea that provides a framework for thinking about the neighborhood around the Embassy Center MKE (formerly called Parklawn Assembly of God) which is located near Sherman Blvd. and Fond du Lac Avenue. The church is an anchor faith institution in Sherman Park with an impactful 114-year history in Milwaukee. The area churches, schools, community and neighborhood organizations and retail businesses, serve as the economic, educational, employment and social hub for the surrounding neighborhood. We desire to lead actions to improve the material and spiritual well-being of neighborhood residents. By engaging in various development projects and community-building activities, and by partnering with area institutions, we seek to build greater social cohesion among residents and bring new economic opportunity to the neighborhood.GIVE.

We do not need another food pantry. It's like a bandaid for cancer. What we need is a thriving and sustaining grocery store offering the freshest groceries while teaching families HOW to make healthy delicious meals while showcasing the skills of local culinary artist entrepreneurs.
Sherman Park Grocery Store is part of a micro economic ecosystem eliminating barriers and ensuring all neighbors know they are have sacred value. We are grateful to Parklawn Assembly of God, P.R.I.S.M. Economic Corporation, UpStart Kitchen, Clean Laundry, Sunshine Dance Studio, and CommunityIMPACT Center. We are receptive to additional entrepreneurs willing to join us along West Fond du Lac Avenue.
